About the course
This webinar builds on the FirstSTAGES Age & Evidence-Based Guide, the cornerstone of the Nurtured Feeding Approach™. You’ll gain deeper insight into using the Guide and Calculator for holistic assessment and intervention planning. Learn how to analyze gain/day and intake to alleviate parental fear, set realistic intervention goals, and support feeding led by the child—fostering intuitive, self-regulated eating and strengthening parent–child bonding. We’ll also cover how to use this tool to provide evidence-based information for collaboration with the medical team. The session includes a demo of the FirstSTAGES Feeding Calculator, a clinical tool that pairs with the Guide to transform how feeding is assessed, analyzed, and tracked. Building on this foundation, the full course and upcoming sessions will expand on applying the Guide in real practice—from assessment and teasing apart reflux, TOTs, and allergens, to alleviating aversion, supporting tube feeding and responsive weaning, empowering parental instincts, nurturing intuitive eating, and collaborating effectively with medical team members using evidence and research.

With over 25 years of experience, Ann Marie Presberg-Martinez is a nationally recognized pediatric feeding specialist dedicated to helping infants, toddlers, and children overcome complex feeding challenges with compassion and expertise. She is the founder of FirstSTAGES Feeding Specialists and creator of the Nurtured Feeding Approach™, a responsive, holistic method that restores reciprocal trust between parent and child and strengthens the feeding relationship. She also developed the FirstSTAGES Age & Evidence-Based Guide and the FirstSTAGES Feeding Calculator—tools that advance evidence-based practice by analyzing feeding patterns, flow rate, weight gain, and intake by age and weight. Her clinical background spans NICU, hospital care, Early Intervention, and private practice. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Marquette University and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Gallaudet University. Outside of her professional work, Ann Marie treasures life with her husband and the adventures that come with raising five lively boys.
